I’ve got something “egg-stra” special to share with you all today! We’re bringing rustic charm into the craft room with this one. So, gather your supplies and make this adorable, 3D chicken coop!

My awesome patrons picked this lovely design! Each month, my Patreon subscribers help me choose the projects I create, and this design was one of the top picks for June.

Learn how to assemble this cute little farm structure!
1. Use your cutting machine or X-ACTO knife, along with my template, to cut out all of the pieces of your 3D chicken coop.
Note: If you are using the SVG files that includes the score lines, don’t forget to set them as such in Cricut Design Space and attach them to their shapes before sending them through your cutting machine. I used a lime green color to mark the score lines, so hopefully that helps! If you’re having trouble with the score lines, check out this video.
2. Start by layering the brown framing pieces on top of your two main red pieces.
Glue the silver mesh pieces to the interior of the red pieces, along with your vellum window pieces.
Attach the white window frames to the exterior of the red pieces, and the other white outline pieces to the smaller red piece.

3. Take your small red piece and fold along the score lines. Attach the sides to the bottom using the tabs provided. Slip the remaining side tabs into the corresponding slits in the large red piece and glue them to the interior.
Attach the angled top flap for the box you just attached by slipping the tabs into the remaining slits in the wall and gluing them to the interior as well.
Fold the brown ramp piece along the score lines and attach it by gluing one tab to the inside of the hole in the wall and the other end to the base of the wall, just beneath it.

4. Attach the two main pieces together on one side.
Fold along all of the score lines. Take the remaining red piece that has score lines and fold along those lines. Attach the square portion to the inside, just below the hole in the front wall, and line the interior side wall up accordingly.
Glue the remaining ends of your building together. Attach the rectangular, red roof piece to the top.

5. Glue the three silver roof panels to the top of the large white piece.
Fold the white piece along the score lines and use the tabs to attach the sides together.
Attach the whole thing to the top of your roof, and your chicken coop is complete!

I’m so glad my patrons chose this design! Designing a cute little structure like this is always a fun challenge. Plus, I know a handful of people who keep chickens, and I think this would make for a sweet little gift.

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy making this 3D chicken coop for the homesteader in your life! I’d love to see your results, so be sure to share them with me by either tagging me on Instagram or by sharing your work in my Facebook Group.
