Learn how to assemble this enchanting bookshelf display piece.
1. Use your cutting machine or X-ACTO knife, along with my template, to cut out all of the pieces of this Beauty and the Beast book nook.
Note: If you are using the SVG files that includes the score lines, don’t forget to set them as such in Cricut Design Space and attach them to their shapes before sending them through your cutting machine. I used a lime green color to mark the score lines, so hopefully that helps! If you’re having trouble with the score lines, check out this video.
2. Layer each of the interior pieces like so. I used foam tape when attaching the stairs on top of the red curtain layer in order to give them even more depth.

3. Take each of your interior pieces and attach them to one of the side walls using the tabs/slits provided. The order (from back to front) goes as follows: the grey layer, the dancing silhouette layer, the curtain/staircase layer, and the solitary brown layer in the front.
Attach the other side panel, as well as the base panel using the tabs/slits provided.

4. Attach the side and base chipboard pieces. Glue on the back, front, and base panels.
Attach the decorative rose emblems to the remaining decorative rectangles, and attach them to the left and right sides of your book nook.
Roll your two paper roses and attach them to the leafy pieces on the front. Your project is complete!

If you don’t have chipboard on hand or aren’t interested in using it for this project, it isn’t 100% necessary. I’ve included it in this design to give the finished piece more rigidity so that it doesn’t get smashed in between the books on your shelf. But if you’re careful with the finished project, you could still display it without the chipboard inserts.
I believe this is the fifth book nook I’ve designed at this point. Implementing so many intricate details in these projects is always a fun challenge! Though it does require a level of patience to cut out all of the pieces, which tends to have me pulling my hair out. Hopefully, you are more patient than I am.

I use Adobe Illustrator for all my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy making this whimsical Beauty and the Beast book nook! I’m excited to see your results, so be sure to share them with me by either tagging me on Instagram or by sharing your work in my Facebook Group.
